About the service

01What's the difference between a bookkeeper and an accountant?

A bookkeeper keeps your day-to-day records accurate. An accountant uses those records to prepare annual accounts and tax returns. We do the first, and work alongside your accountant on the second.

02Do you do tax returns or annual accounts?

Not at present. We keep your books clean and year-end ready, so your accountant's work is quicker.

03Which software do you use?

We work in Xero. If you're on spreadsheets or another package, we'll set you up on Xero and move your records across.

04Can you catch up old records?

Yes. We quote a fixed price for catch-up work before we start.

Pricing and contracts

05How much does it cost?

Packages start from £75 a month for sole traders and £175 a month for small limited companies, excluding VAT.

06Is there a contract?

A simple engagement letter, with 30 days' notice. No long tie-ins.

07What happens if I want to leave?

Give notice and we'll hand over your up-to-date records. Your data stays in your own Xero account.

Getting started

08How quickly can you start?

As soon as your ID checks are done and the engagement letter is signed. We'll agree a start date on your health check.

09Why do you need ID?

Anti-money laundering law requires us to verify every client's identity before we start work.

10What do I need to send each month?

Receipts and invoices as you go, plus answers to a few short queries.

11Is my data secure?

We work in Xero, secure cloud software, and we handle your data in line with UK GDPR. See our privacy notice.

12Do you work with businesses anywhere in the UK?

Yes. We work with businesses across the UK, remotely.
